SCHEDULE: Full Time; exempt; includes some evenings, weekends, and on-call
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Recruit, hire, train and supervise support staff and volunteers for assigned location. Responsible for daily shelter operations, program development and reporting requirements.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conducts interviews and hires appropriate support staff and volunteers.
2. Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with community organizations and groups.
3. Provides supervision, development and evaluation for all support staff and volunteers; facilitates monthly staff meetings and trainings for both support staff and volunteers, as needed.
4. Works with Program Staff to determine eligibility and suitability of applicants.
5. Oversees Case Managers and assigns work load; maintains and reviews supportive service files.
6. Assists with coordinating various activities for current clients in the shelter.
7. Maintains confidential employee files and records.
8. Schedules support staff and volunteers.
9. Assists in the general upkeep of the shelter facility and grounds.
10. Submits timely statistical reporting to Program Director for the department of Veteran Affairs, Executive Board and other stakeholders.
11. Works cooperatively with the Director of Veteran's Services to ensure effective services delivery; identifies and reports problems or unmet needs to Director of Veteran Services.
12. Provides on-call assistance to shelter staff as needed.
13. Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.
14. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Ability to model open communication, fair and equitable treatment, management of conflicts and work in a team structure.
2. Knowledge of client-centered model and conflict resolution.
3. Experience working with families and individuals in a residential setting.
4. Must complete TB Test, CPR and First Aid training.
5. Valid Ohio Driver's License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability if applicable.
6. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field, and/or two years experience working in a related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Educational. Management or supervisory experience preferred, requirements may be waived based on evaluation of experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to hear and talk on the phone and/or face to face interaction required. Ability to travel to provide services in other offices and locations to meet client and agency needs.
