Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Systems Engineer to join our Space Domain Awareness team. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and deploying advanced systems that contribute to national security and space situational awareness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, with experience in space systems, satellite technologies, or related fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, integration, and testing of SDA systems.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure system requirements are met and design goals are achieved.
- Develop and maintain system architecture and design documentation.
- Perform system-level analysis and trade studies to guide the design and implementation of SDA solutions.
- Integrate subsystems and components into a cohesive, functional system.
- Ensure systems are compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for system design and implementation.
- Support the deployment of SDA systems, including on-site installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Basic Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, preferably within the aerospace or defense industries.
- Strong understanding of space systems, satellite technologies, and/or Space Domain Awareness.
- Proficiency in system modeling and simulation tools.
- Experience with system integration, testing, and validation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with satellite ground systems or space situational awareness technologies.
- Familiarity with software and hardware integration processes.
- Knowledge of astrodynamics or orbital mechanics.
- Experience in working with government customers and understanding their operational requirements.
- Ability to lead technical teams and manage projects effectively.
