South Coast Plaza is a well-established, privately owned luxury shopping destination. Come and join our outstanding team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the Engineering Manager in the review of design and maintenance of HVAC, Electrical and Fire Life Safety systems.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong communication skills. Must be able to effectively coordinate maintenance activities with other SCP departments, while keeping both the team and management informed and involved.
- Estimate HVAC and other mechanical project work, ensuring scope, plans, materials, and workmanship follow applicable standards and requirements.
- Review tenant improvement plans for constructability and compliance with published construction standards and building codes.
- Perform energy load audits of proposed tenant spaces. Confirms physical inventory of energy components and actual energy usage after space is constructed. Reviews the air balance report.
- Review and assist with store planning, redistribution, and reconfiguration of base building services (A/C, Electrical and DCW) to suit future store demising and layout.
- Ensure that maintenance and repair projects are commenced and completed on schedule and on budget.
- Assist in the evaluation and handling of service requests, dispatching appropriate staff and contractors in a timely manner.
- Oversee project coordination and capital resource allocation with ongoing quality assurance throughout project milestones.
- Take initiative in analyzing a situation and be able to make frequent technical decisions based on specifications, safety, and applicable codes and standards.
- Maintain infrastructure and compliance documentation for the building, including up-to-date building drawings and single-lines documentation mandated for the purpose of maintaining regulatory compliance with Federal, State or Local law.
- Strive to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and building operations to reduce waste and improve cost-efficiency.
- Foster a strong safety culture amongst the engineering team, ensuring that all work is conducted in compliance with SCP and OSHA safety standards. Assist in the organization and implementation of safety training programs appropriate to the needs of the property.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7-0 years of experience as a project coordinator, project engineer, or project manager
- Aptitude to read construction documents and ability to inspect store designs with adherence to South Coast Plaza standards and building code.
- Strong understanding of central plant operations, air distribution, energy efficient strategies, building automation systems, Wi-Fi, DAS, and fiberoptic network infrastructure, internal combustion engines, and fire life safety system standards.
- Universal CFC certification required. Additional certification in three or more of the following preferred: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, steam and/or refrigeration systems, process controls, power transmission or plumbing. Certification/licenses may be required by local and state authorities.
Pay Range: $130,000-$150,000 per year. The salary range listed is an estimate and not guaranteed. The salary offer will vary based on applicant education, experience, skills, abilities and entire compensation package.
