Our client, one of the nation’s largest bank and financial services providers, is seeking to add a Wealth Planner – Certified Financial Planner (CFP) to their team in Albany, NY. The Opportunity
The Wealth Planner is responsible for delivering financial planning experience to high-net-worth clients and prospects. The Wealth Planner will work closely with Private Bank Relationship Managers to acquire and deepen relationships by increasing planning engagement. The Wealth Planner will support Essential Planning opportunities and lead Advanced Planning conversations, including risk management, estate and wealth transfer, portfolio management, executive compensation and business succession planning.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities of the role include:
- Actively participate in Private Bank prospect, client, and centers of influence (COI) meetings as the Financial Planning expert.
- Lead prospect, client and COI planning engagements when advising on Advanced Planning priorities.
- Collaborate with Private Bank Managers to proactively reach out to clients to advise on age milestone, life events, and children/wealth planning opportunities.
- Work with Market Leaders and internal business partners to develop and support growth of the Financial Planning business model.
- Support internal and external planning content development projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
- Comply with all bank policies and procedures, including without limitation, professional demeanor, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest and acting in the best interests of bank clients and employees.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience (required)
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation (required)
- 5+ years in financial planning capacity providing financial planning advice to affluent clients (required)
- 3+ years providing financial planning advice to high-net-worth clients (preferred)
- Expertise in goals-based planning process, including discovery, plan development and delivery.
- Ability to coach advisors on the planning process - technical and consultative.
- Experience in modeling estate, wealth transfer, multi-generational, liquidity event scenarios.
- Proficiency with planning tools and software, MoneyGuide and Wealth Studios preferred.
- Proven track record of working with high and ultra-high net worth families.
- Strong team player, responsive partner and effective collaborator.
- Experience working with CRM tools.
- Strong client service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong presentation skills.
At this time, the good faith estimate of the annual base salary range for this position is $92,000 to $172,000. Where a successful applicant is slotted within this range will vary based on legitimate criteria, such as years of experience and skill level.
