Job Title: IT Technical Specialist 1
Job Summary:
The IT Technical Specialist 1 will be responsible for resolving basic to intermediate technical issues while delivering exceptional customer service. The role focuses on desktop computing, end-user support, and network troubleshooting within Windows 10 and 11 environments. This is an on-site position requiring the specialist to manage support calls, resolve technical issues, and collaborate with the team to improve support processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end-users via email, phone, and in-person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic network, LAN, and desktop issues.
- Handle mobile phone configurations, VPN setups, and patch management.
- Deploy, maintain, and fix hardware/software for Windows 10 & 11 environments.
- Ensure meticulous documentation for each technical issue and resolution.
- Assist in preventive maintenance and user training on IT systems.
- Support Active Directory setups and account management.
- Monitor and ensure desktop security, including antivirus management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Experience: 3 years of related IT experience with at least 1 year of customer/technical support.
- Proficiency in desktop computing, hardware/software installations, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of SCCM, Windows 10/11, VPN, and Active Directory.
- Certifications (Preferred): CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft certifications.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with team members.
- Experience with remote support tools such as Bomgar and Nexthink is a plus.
- Effective problem-solving and multitasking skills, especially under stress.
Work Environment:
- This role is 100% on-site and requires extended periods of sitting while working on computers. Occasional bending, lifting up to 20 pounds, and reaching is required.
