We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst with experience in the Mortgage Industry and a background in Accounting/Treasury. This position will play a critical role in providing data analysis and reconciliation, developing accounting solutions, and supporting financial processes within our organization. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, particularly in SQL, and the ability to analyze and interpret data to support accounting and treasury operations. This is a Contract-to-Hire position with an immediate start date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Reconciliation: Perform data analysis to identify discrepancies, conduct reconciliations, and provide accounting solutions as needed.
- Financial Process Support: Work closely with accounting and treasury teams to analyze financial data, propose solutions, and improve efficiency in mortgage-related financial processes.
- SQL Querying: Write and execute SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and reporting to support business needs.
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for accounting and treasury processes.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current processes and work with teams to implement improvements, aligning them with business goals.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for accounting-related systems and processes, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear documentation for financial processes, system integrations, and reconciliation methods.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between accounting, treasury, and IT teams, ensuring smooth communication and alignment on project objectives.
Key Qualifications:
- Industry Experience:
- Proven experience in the Mortgage Industry.
- Solid background in Accounting/Treasury functions and processes.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL: Ability to write, execute, and troubleshoot SQL queries for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong data analysis and reconciliation skills to support accounting solutions.
- Knowledge of financial software and accounting systems (experience with ERP systems is a plus).
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and identify solutions for accounting challenges.
- Experience in process improvement and automation for financial functions.
- Communication & Documentation:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to document technical and financial processes clearly and effectively.
- Proven experience in stakeholder management and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Preferred:
- Familiarity with accounting principles, GAAP, and financial regulations.
- Experience with data visualization or business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
