The focus is on delivering exceptional service and support, rather than simply selling products. We are seeking a motivated and personable Outside Sales Representative to join the team.
Job Summary:
The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with the existing customer base while exploring new business opportunities. This role requires a relationship-focused sales approach, with a strong emphasis on customer engagement, quoting millwork, and collaboration with the Inside Sales team. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the customer base, including architects, woodworkers, independent retailers, and cabinet makers, and will possess the ability to connect with clients on a personal level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers in the assigned territory.
- Visit customers regularly, even when no active projects are ongoing, to nurture relationships and understand their needs.
- Provide accurate quotes for millwork products and follow up on old quotes to secure opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Inside Sales team to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.
- Stay informed about industry trends and customer needs to provide valuable insights and solutions.
- Represent the company at industry events and trade shows as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in sales, with a focus on relationship-building rather than transactional selling.
- Familiarity with the millwork industry and customer base, including AWI, woodworkers, independent retailers, and cabinet makers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse range of clients.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned coverage area.
