POSITION SUMMARY:
This Beverage Food Scientist position, within Flavor Systems R&D team, will leverage their scientific training and industrial experience to develop and scale-up new flavor products and systems for the food and beverage market. This position is expected to take on projects with significant technical challenges. Ability to work cross-functionally to determine goals and timetables for projects; ensure diligence in development, scale up, and commercialization of products; to drive innovation and deliver on business goals is required.
In addition to the beverage development aspect, this position will help support both local and global strategies and business initiatives. Initiatives may include, but not be limited to, aiding in troubleshooting formulation issues and complaints, leading or supporting continuous improvement projects, and working cross functionally to improve plant efficiencies.

REQUIREMENTS:
- · This position requires a scientist with expertise in beverage applications from both formulation and processing standpoint. The candidate will have expertise in formulation of beverage development projects including but not limited to tea, coffee, soft drinks, energy drinks, enhanced waters, dairy, and powdered beverages.
- · Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or other related science field plus 5+ years of applicable work experience, or master's degree plus 3+ years of applicable work experience
- · Minimum 3 years of experience in beverage development is required.
- · Develop new formulations in collaboration with customers, sales, & marketing
- · Source and manage ingredients, flavors, and equipment
- · Understand requirements and implications of beverage processing: aseptic, hot fill, cold fill.
- · Determine functional performance and sensory properties of ingredients in finished products.
- · Create and document finished goods bottling formulas for costing and production
- · Provide technical support to customers and internal departments on beverage application issues
- · Experience in translating unmet consumer needs with commercial objectives into science and technology strategies and plans.
- · Advanced problem solving and evaluation capabilities along with a proven track record of delivering extraordinary results
- · Ability to support cross-functional business objectives and work collaboratively with other business groups
- · Ability to gather, sort, and analyze data and make recommendations.
- · Computer skills including Excel, Word, and product formulation software tools required.
- · Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- · Collaborative skills allowing effective interactions with Marketing teams, Operations and Manufacturing Teams, Quality and Regulatory Compliance Teams and Senior Management.
