Your role at Clorox:
This position is responsible for ensuring central oversight and standardization of the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) function and safety culture as a leader dedicated to Clorox’s Cleaning Business Units (“BUs”) along with all associated plants in this business. This leader will be a part of the Cleaning BU leadership squads. This leader is responsible for ensuring plants in the relevant BUs understand and meet both regulatory requirements and BU/plant-specific or Clorox requirements.
In addition to directly supervising the Cleaning HSE Supervisors, this leader works closely with other partners and leaders from the HSE Center of Excellence (“Center HSE”), Supply Chain, ESG, and Clorox Legal teams to ensure continued compliance with enterprise-wide strategies and legal obligations as appropriate. This leader must inspire a strong, consistent safety culture across the Cleaning BUs and associated plants and ensures consistency with the enterprise and Center HSE.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, mentor, develop Cleaning Plant HSE Supervisors at Clorox’s Cleaning plants.
- Work across Cleaning BU in collaboration with plant leadership (including HSE teammates) to build/maintain a strong, consistent safety culture that delivers Center HSE objectives.
- Disseminate Center HSE policies/procedures and related Clorox policies/procedures and ensure they are implemented in a standardized way across covered plants.
- Connect plant leadership with relevant Center HSE, Supply Chain, BU, and legal partners and leaders when escalations are needed to ensure enterprise-wide consistency or compliance with legal obligations.
- Build and lead all aspects of a standardized safety committee structure within each covered plant to ensure all regulatory requirements (e.g., obligations imposed by OSHA, EPA, etc.) and any related training is incorporated into plant-level initiatives.
- Travel to various plants and corporate locations as needed to effectively perform responsibilities and support direct and indirect reports.
- Provide insight to and support the creation, implementation, and/or maintenance of Center HSE policies, programs, and best practices.
- Document BU or plant-level incident investigations and lessons learned into repository with Center HSE and identify associated corrective actions when applicable.
- Provide plant- and BU-specific input (including regulatory requirements) to advise Center HSE standards, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with Plant HSE Supervisors for other BUs in Community of Practice.
- Ensure BU-level HSE accountability by participating and providing HSE-related updates, themes, mentorship, and proactive leadership in BU leadership squad meetings for Cleaning.
- Partner with BU leadership in defining BU-specific safety objectives and collaborate with Center HSE/legal as appropriate to ensure consistency with enterprise-wide objectives and initiatives.

What we look for:
- 5 plus years’ experience with 3 plus years of technical experience in occupational health and safety responsibilities in a manufacturing or related environment.
- Experience leading a team with growing responsibility and a demonstrated track record of success and culture building across multiple plants, locations, or departments.
- Successful at attracting, encouraging, and retaining hard-working teams with diverse experiences and perspectives.
- Has experience and deep knowledge of the regulatory implications on health, safety, and environmental practices in the manufacturing environment.
- Collaborates effectively and frequently with key partners at various levels across the enterprise.
- Works as a trusted advisor who can influence HSE-related decisions through an operational lens with priority on safety.
- Possesses active knowledge and experience on HSE-related topics, challenges, regulatory requirements, enterprise goals, and culture management.
- Partners effectively with BU and Plant leaders to identify, implement, and/or translate safety solutions.
- Able to implement a comprehensive, uniform safety culture across the Clorox BUs and plants with balanced focus on prioritizing safety in workplace conditions, and employee behaviors.
- Synthesizes HSE-related concerns and appropriate recommendations that can be escalated to Center HSE, Supply Chain, Clorox legal, or other partners as appropriate.
- Builds hard-working teams through highly effective mentoring appropriate to leading dispersed team members, including providing feedback that stretches individual development.
- Challenges and supports the team to explore and develop new and innovative ways to achieve enterprise safety goals that remain consistent with regulatory and legal obligations
- BS/BA degree or higher in Health, Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene or related degree
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP); Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or related certification preferred

Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
–Zone A: $121,900 - $240,100
–Zone B: $111,700 - $220,100
–Zone C: $101,600 - $200,100
