Roles and Responsibilities of a ServiceNow SPM (Strategic Portfolio Management) Consultant:
Strategic Portfolio Management Implementation:
- Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of the ServiceNow SPM (formerly ITBM) suite, including Project Portfolio Management (PPM), Application Portfolio Management (APM), Demand Management, and Resource Management.
- Align SPM capabilities with business strategies and objectives, ensuring portfolio initiatives are managed efficiently.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements related to project and portfolio management processes.
- Facilitate workshops to identify current processes and demonstrate how ServiceNow SPM modules can streamline operations.
Solution Design and Customization:
- Design, develop, and customize SPM modules to meet client-specific requirements.
- Ensure configurations and workflows align with industry best practices while supporting the business’s goals and objectives.
User Story and Requirements Management:
- Translate business needs into technical requirements, epics, and user stories for effective implementation.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure accurate and timely development of solutions.
Performance and Reporting:
- Develop customized reports and dashboards for tracking project performance, financials, and resource utilization using ServiceNow Performance Analytics.
- Ensure visibility and transparency across project portfolios for key stakeholders.
Training and Knowledge Transfer:
- Conduct training sessions and create user guides to ensure end-users can efficiently utilize the SPM functionalities.
- Provide ongoing advisory and support, empowering teams to leverage ServiceNow for continuous improvement in portfolio management.
