TIA Certified Tire Mechanic – Job Description
Summary
Dismounts and mounts truck tires and all smaller tires following OSHA and or TIA industry standards. Determines repairable tire conditions and makes needed repairs per TIA specifications. Must understand Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) operation and be able to set up TPMS sensors.
Responsibilities:
- Perform tire installations, rotations, and repairs for commercial vehicles
- Inspect tires for wear and damage, and recommend appropriate tire service solutions
- Balance tires
- Assist in selecting the right tires for their vehicles
- Keep accurate records of all tire services performed
- Roadside/Mobile Repairs
- Some afterhours repairs and availability.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in commercial tire service is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy tires and equipment
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- TIA certification is required
