Job Description
As the Senior Security Consultant at this educational non-profit, you will support a national cross-functional security strategy and security program for our rapidly growing network of tuition-free, Montessori-inspired preschools in under resourced areas. To strengthen our organization's initiatives and ongoing programs across strategic, operational, and tactical domains, you will travel nationally and team up with schools, local communities, and local agencies (such as law enforcement), while aligning your priorities to those of our education and national operations leaders. You will research and implement safety and security best practices, services, and training to protect our students, staff, and facilities at every site. You are a mission-driven professional who is eager to roll-up your sleeves, dig in, build processes, drive initiatives, promote improvements, and write policies and standards. You regularly update leadership on progress and outcomes. You have a track record of collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to support assumptions, generate recommendations, and drive action. You have also successfully managed third-party vendor relationships to ensure compliance and exceptionally high standards of service and you are familiar with both incident reporting and investigations. You are motivated and energized by the complexity, scope, and hands-on nature of a fast-growing startup environment
Required Skills

* Experience in either establishing or managing an existing security operations center (SOC)
* Experience conducting threat, security, and risk assessments to identify critical infrastructure/asset vulnerabilities and developing cost-effective mitigation strategies
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Valid state driver's license, clean motor vehicle records, personal auto insurance (at least minimum coverage under applicable law), and access to a reliable vehicle
* Ability to travel nationally up to 50%, depending on the needs of our school sites
Nice to Have Skills
* Five or more years of experience managing and leading teams across multiple sites
* ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP and/or PSP)
* Experience developing new strategies and programs for an early-stage (start-up) organization
* Prior educational sector experience in physical security, crisis operations, risk management, and communications to students, families, school staff, and communities
* Comfort and confidence in leading incident investigations
* Experience establishing, implementing, and managing multiple third-party vendors, contractors, and consultants
