Job descriptionRole and Responsibilities
- Credit Evaluation: Underwrite and perform detailed analysis of personal and business tax returns, internal company documents, and personal financial statements. Utilize this analysis to assess the creditworthiness of loan applicants and evaluate associated risks.
- Risk Assessment: Gather, review, and interpret loan applicants' financial data to determine risk levels and make informed recommendations regarding credit lines. This includes decisions on whether to increase, adjust, extend, or close lines of credit.
- Reporting: Prepare and present in-depth credit reports to the internal Loan team and Credit Committee. Ensure reports are comprehensive, accurate, and clearly articulate the potential risks and benefits associated with each credit decision.
- Critical Analysis: Apply advanced interpretation and critical thinking skills to financial documents to assess the potential credit risk of clients. Provide insightful recommendations based on thorough financial analysis.
- Time Management: Successfully manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Meet tight deadlines and ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Adaptability: Demonstrate a willingness to continuously learn and adapt by taking on new responsibilities within the credit division. Be prepared to collaborate with other departments within the bank as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Credit Analyst, with a demonstrated track record in credit analysis, risk assessment, and financial evaluation.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA), Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Accounting Coursework: At least 6 hours of coursework in accounting or equivalent graduate-level accounting training.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of personnel within the organization.
Preferred Skills
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Jack Henry Xperience software. Experience with financial modeling and risk assessment tools is highly desirable.
- Analytical Expertise: Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial statements, credit risk evaluation, and industry best practices.
