Vitro3D is seeking self-motivated and detail-oriented Additive Manufacturing Technicians to join our R&D team. As a Technician, you will be responsible for fabricating and testing 3D components to enable the production of high-resolution manufacturing systems designed for various industries, including electronics and healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain 3D printers and optomechanical systems (e.g., making and analyzing parts, working with our custom optical system, operating our proprietary VitroSim software).
- Prepare and manage photosensitive resin and materials, including filling and mounting cartridges.
- Conduct post-processing tasks and work with different solvents.
- Perform measurements using tools like calipers, microscopes, and imaging software to verify and document part quality.
- Perform mechanical duties like sawing, soldering, and basic assembly.
- Troubleshoot equipment and processes by following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and collaborate with the technical team for swift resolution of issues.
- Manage and organize project tasks, communicating progress and identifying any potential delays early to ensure timely delivery.
- Document findings and compile data into presentations, tables, and slides for internal reviews and stakeholder meetings.
- Adhere to safety guidelines, particularly when handling lasers, chemicals, and other specialized equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring end-of-week clean-ups and tool management.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present data clearly in slides or tables.

- Ability to troubleshoot and follow SOPs rigorously while maintaining high standards for quality and precision.
- Self-motivated and adaptable; comfortable with changing priorities and tasks based on team decisions.

- Willingness to repeat experiments when necessary and continuously seek improvements.

- Basic mechanical skills (e.g., sawing, soldering) and the ability to use resources creatively to build custom tools or suggest needed resources.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Experience using inspection and power tools
- Possess a strong focus on safety compliance, quality, and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Good judgment and decision making
- Ability to learn and complete training quickly
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1 year of manufacturing experience
- Experience with Matlab or similar programming tools.
- Familiarity with ImageJ for image analysis.
- Previous experience in an R&D or manufacturing environment, particularly in additive manufacturing or 3D printing.
- An understanding of safety protocols specific to working with lasers and chemicals.
- Skills in creating or modifying SOPs based on new discoveries or procedural changes.
