Hours: 40 to 50 hours per week
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm EST -OR- Wednesday-Saturday, 6:30am-5:00pm EST
Pay Range: $20 to $22 per hour
NOTE: Medical clearance is NOT required for this position.
Responsibilities:
A. Shoveling of ash and trash build up from under and around conveyor systems and hoppers.
B. General removal of debris throughout the plant.
C. Cleaning and maintenance inside boilers and hoppers (confined space with full-face respirator).
D. Material handling of plant material and equipment including staging, pipes, air hoses, etc.
E. Painting.
F. Operating transport equipment (wheelbarrow, forklift, man lift, etc.).
G. Blow down areas.
H. Hole watch attendant.
I. Fire watch attendant.
J. Power washing equipment.
General Requirements:
- All contractors must receive site safety orientation training before commencing work
- Contractors must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Contractors must be able to use job tools as provided (Air lances, Refuse hooks, rakes, brooms, shovels, etc.)
- Contractors will provide the necessary PPE to perform the task and the PPE must be worn.
- Contractors must be trained in the use and inspection of full body harnesses
- Contractors must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Must have good oral and written English communication skills.
- Contractor will have their own labeled lock out lock
- Contractor shall be trained on hazard recognition and confined work spaces in an industrial environment
- Contractors will attend morning planning meetings.
- Contractors may be required to access roof tops and Confined Space with full-face respirators as well as hot/dusty environments.
- Contractors may be required to blow out debris from within conveyors
- Contractors must be familiar with working around moving heavy equipment as well as rotating machinery. Daily activities may position contractors alongside operating equipment, such as, moving conveyor belts; contractors are to ensure they do not cross safety boundaries or equipment guarding with any tools or body parts.
- Contractors will be assigned different cleaning areas to be blown down, swept or cleaned on a daily basis. These cleaning areas will vary from day to day to accommodate cleaning all the areas of the plant on a weekly basis.
- Contractors will communicate with the contractor supervisor when assistance is needed and systems need to be shut down or re-started.
