About the Role:
In this role, you will play a crucial part in performance and validation testing across various technologies, including physical hardware, cloud virtual machines, SaaS, and database software, with a specific focus on SQL Server. Your responsibilities will include early validation of potential cloud offerings and the development of software tools to automate testing tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct performance and validation testing on on-prem and Azure SQL software.
- Develop and execute performance tools and scripts.
- Automate testing tasks using PowerShell and other scripting languages.
- Collect, analyze, and report performance data to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with senior Performance Engineers and participate in knowledge sharing and mentorship.
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science; Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of data structures and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with database concepts (tables, indexes, locks, etc.).
- Experience with hardware and low-level testing/benchmarking.
- Ability to read and understand code in languages such as C#, Bash, C, C++, PowerShell, Python.
- Knowledge of physical and cloud-based computer technologies.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly.
Desired Qualification:
Familiarity with product lifecycle and general knowledge of personal and server-class computers, applications software, and operating systems.
Compensation / Salary Range: The typical pay for this role across the U.S. is: $50,000- $65,000 per year. Factors that may affect pay within or outside of this range may include but not limited to geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
