Vice President of Acquisitions (Real Estate)
Company Overview:
The Company is a diversified organization with holdings across various verticals. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with a proven track record of handling complex, high-stakes financial transactions across multiple sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Investment & Capital Sourcing: Lead the identification and sourcing of new investment opportunities, as well as securing debt and equity capital to meet the company’s financial goals and growth objectives.
- Financial Analysis & Asset Evaluation: Conduct thorough financial analysis across multiple asset classes within the real estate sector (e.g., commercial, multifamily, hotels, marinas) and other operational businesses across various geographies (urban, rural, local, and national).
- Due Diligence & Investment Evaluation: Collaborate with the CEO and CFO in performing due diligence for new projects and investments. This includes financial modeling, credit analysis, site visits, and the evaluation of business and financial reports.
- Deal Structuring & Negotiation: Oversee the full-cycle negotiation and structuring of financing/refinancing agreements, including bridge loans, mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, and joint ventures. Work closely with banks, borrowers, and non-bank lenders to finalize terms and close deals.
- Asset Management: Manage the company’s loan portfolio, including borrower and guarantor reporting, reviewing associated financials, and overseeing owned and managed assets, as well as limited partner investments.
- Relationship Management: Maintain and cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders including banks, brokers, developers, and other relevant partners.
- Presentation & Reporting: Develop and manage business plans, internal reports, deal memos, and presentation materials such as debt and equity books.
- External Representation: Represent the company in negotiations, meetings, and presentations with financial institutions, developers, brokers, and investors.
Desired Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. A Master’s degree in Real Estate or MBA is strongly preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in real estate and real estate finance, with a preference for candidates with exposure to major real estate markets (e.g., New York City).
- Skills: Proven ability to work closely with executive teams, excellent communication skills (both written and oral), and expertise in financial modeling, deal structuring, and asset management.
