We are seeking a motivated and skilled Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney with at least 1 year of experience to join our expanding team. This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must be licensed to practice in California and have experience handling workers' compensation cases. You will be responsible for managing a caseload, defending clients in all aspects of workers' compensation claims, and delivering superior legal strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a full caseload of workers' compensation defense matters from inception to conclusion.
- Represent employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in all phases of litigation, including depositions, hearings, trials, and appeals.
- Provide strategic legal advice and collaborate with clients to develop defense strategies.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct legal research and stay current on relevant laws, rulings, and regulations in California workers' compensation law.
- Attend remote depositions, mediations, and court appearances as required.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and explaining the legal process.
Qualifications:
- Must have an active California Bar license in good standing.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in workers' compensation defense.
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to handle cases independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work remotely and maintain effective communication with team members and clients.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
