A Senior Data Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data architecture solutions that meet the needs of an organization. Here are some key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data architectures using various technologies such as databases (SQL/NoSQL), big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark), cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), ETL tools, etc.
- Develop data models, schemas, and metadata management strategies to ensure data consistency across the organization.
- Design and implement data integration solutions that connect various systems and applications within the organization.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices in data governance, security, privacy, and quality.
- Lead a team of data architects, developers, and engineers to deliver high-quality data architecture projects on time and within budget.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in data management technologies and best practices.
- Participate in project planning, estimation, and risk assessment activities.
- Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., infrastructure, security) to ensure seamless integration of data architecture solutions into the overall technology landscape.
- Understand Data Governance including the overall management of the organizations data including policies.
- Cybersecurity critical to identification of potential threats, understanding attack patterns, detecting intrusions, and responding to incidents.
- Understanding of Data Platforms refers to knowledge about various technologies and tools used for storing, processing, analyzing, and managing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
