Loss Control Specialist -St. Petersburg, FL
FinTrust Connect, a trusted partner of a well-established financial institution, is seeking a highly skilled Loss Control Specialist with a CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification in the Greater Tampa Bay Area.
In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and assessing risk exposures for commercial package and inland marine insurance clients. This position involves conducting on-site inspections, analyzing safety practices, and making recommendations to mitigate risks. The Senior Loss Control Representative will serve as a subject matter expert on loss prevention and risk mitigation strategies, helping shape underwriting decisions and client outcomes.
A strong candidate in this role will work closely with clients to identify risks in their operations, such as unsafe practices or high-risk areas. By advising on solutions, they help clients prevent costly claims, enhancing safety and saving both the client and company money. Their contributions will result in fewer claims, safer business operations, and stronger long-term client relationships.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in loss control or risk management, focusing on commercial packaging and inland marine insurance.
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification, ARM (Associate in Risk Management) preferred.
- Proven experience in safety management, risk assessment, or loss control.
- Solid knowledge of workplace safety regulations and industry standards.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex safety issues and recommendations.
- Willingness to travel for on-site client inspections as needed.
Description:
- Conduct on-site inspections for commercial properties and inland marine risks, evaluating potential exposures and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and recommend safety programs and risk reduction strategies to minimize hazards.
- Produce detailed, actionable reports outlining risks and safety improvements for clients.
- Advise clients on adhering to industry standards and regulatory compliance, focusing on preventing losses before they happen.
- Work closely with underwriters and claims teams to ensure safety programs are effectively reducing risk and protecting both the client and the company.
- Serve as a Loss Control Practice Leader, working directly with clients to assess risks, identify areas of concern, and implement proactive safety measures.
