Role: Market Research/Procurement Consultant
Duration: 12 months (Possible Extension)
Location: Tampa Bay, FL (Hybrid: 2 days in office: Tuesday and any other day)
Project Overview:
Team Structure: They are a collaborative team. There is a lot of overlap with team, and this resource should be able to collaborate. 1 team member works from home, 3 are based in Newark, Manager is based in Tampa, and 1 team member is based in Pittsburg. This resource will be on teams to connect and should feel comfortable making a phone call. The training and ramp-up is moving quickly. While they know some things will take time, there are certain processes they expect this person to pick up on quickly.
Responsibilities:
- Contract reviews (renewal and new).
- Review and identify to businesses any contractual restrictions and/or concerns with the agreement, including usage rights and business terms.
- Negotiations (vendor fees, usage rights, business terms).
- Track renewals and auto-renewals.
- Internal coordination with stakeholders.
- Contract intake and execution.
- Contract termination requirements.
- Contract compliance.
- Inquiries regarding index data (access, cost, distribution, disclosure).
- Inquiries regarding market data usage rights.
- New service requests, moves, changes.
- Respond to User inquiries.
- FITS/SPEND inventory updates.
Skills and Requirements
- Required: market data or procurement experience, no specific vendors required – experience should be in the financial industry. 5 years’ experience in market by default, or procurement experience in the financial space. Should not be IT/technical in nature. They are non-IT through and through.
- Someone who understands the affiliates broadly.
- Should be comfortable talking to vendors, talking to internal business partners.
- Should be a fast learner (the ramp up is quick).
- Understanding contracts, renewals, general services.
- Understands efficiency and who can move quickly and understands urgency.
- Willing to learn the process.
- Detailed oriented/organized.
- Should review processes, procedures and policies provided by the HM to ensure they are on track before reaching out.
- Should ask questions, be sure you are following the processes. Someone who is thorough (for example, if manager asked for a document to be sent out, he expects this candidate to review the document to ensure no errors are there. They should be proactive in reviewing and circling back as needed).
- Nice to have: basic excel skills, basic word, basic communicate, FITZ is great to have(not required). Experience with the vendors is a plus (Bloomberg, Frank Russell, MSCI, SMP)
- Someone who is direct.
