Sr. Manager, Indirect Procurement
Connecticut (Hybrid)
Position Summary:
As the Senior Manager of Indirect Procurement, you will play a critical role in driving cost savings, optimizing procurement processes, and managing supplier relationships for indirect goods and services within our global organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals. Your expertise will help us maintain operational efficiency and support our growth initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement Planning:
- Develop and execute the indirect procurement strategy aligned with the company’s overall objectives.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
Supplier Management:
- Manage end-to-end procurement for indirect categories, including Professional Services, Travel & Entertainment (T&E), Facilities Management, and Agency Fees, ensuring cost-effective sourcing strategies and vendor management across various functions
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring high performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, and resolve any issues or disputes.
Process Optimization:
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, including sourcing, purchasing, and contract management.
- Implement best practices and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with internal stakeholders including finance, operations, and manufacturing to understand needs and ensure alignment with procurement strategies.
- Support the development of business cases for procurement decisions and initiatives.
Market Analysis and Sourcing:
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends and supply market conditions.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to ensure competitive pricing and optimal supplier performance.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Professional certification such as CPSM, CIPS, or PMP is highly desirable.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Proven track record of managing indirect procurement categories and delivering significant cost savings.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
- Experience with ERP system such as SAP preferred, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Environmental Factors:
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally for business (10% if needed)
- We currently operate on a hybrid schedule; candidate must be willing to come into the Stamford office 3/days a week.
