Our client, a growing regional bank in the Nashville area, is seeking an experienced Loan Review Manager to lead and enhance their loan review function. This position offers the opportunity to oversee a dedicated team and play a key role in building out the loan review framework as the bank continues to expand its operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the loan review team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to best practices.
- Oversee the loan review process, including evaluating the bank's credit risk, reviewing loan portfolios, and assessing the overall quality of the loan book.
- Collaborate with senior management to refine and strengthen the loan review function, ensuring alignment with the bank’s strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct detailed assessments of commercial, real estate, and consumer loans to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to senior management regarding loan quality, portfolio risk, and any potential deficiencies in credit processes.
- Prepare and present comprehensive loan review reports for executive leadership, including analysis of loan trends, risk exposure, and suggested improvements.
- Work closely with other departments, including credit administration, risk management, and internal audit, to maintain a robust credit risk management framework.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes, industry trends, and best practices to continually improve the bank’s loan review policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in loan review, credit analysis, or credit risk management, with a focus on commercial lending.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of successfully managing teams and implementing loan review processes.
- Strong understanding of credit risk management, loan underwriting, and portfolio management practices.
- Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards related to loan review and credit risk.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information and provide actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present findings to senior leadership and influence decision-making.
- A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred. Advanced certifications (e.g., CRC, CFA) are a plus.
