Our client specializes in designing, manufacturing, testing, and servicing of engineered heavy-duty process centrifugal pumps (fully API 610 Compliant) for the CCUS, Green Energy / Circular Economy, H2, LNG, Chem-Petrochem, and power-generating industries since 1957.
Our client is looking for a talented professional to join the team in the role of Service Technician.
I. Purpose
The Service Technician is responsible for carrying out maintenance and service on centrifugal pumps equipment for customers. This individual is involved in evaluation, quoting service prices, national and international field service, start-up assistance and troubleshooting of centrifugal pumps, warranty claims, and inspection of incoming pumps.
II. Duties and Responsibilities
• Carry out maintenance and service on API 610 and other centrifugal pumps.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge, which includes reading instruction manuals, API 610 Standard, and participating in training programs as required by our client.
• Apply good standards of engineering practice and promote a professional image at end user’s sites.
• Commission new equipment in an effective manner.
• Effectively diagnose mechanical faults on customer equipment.
• Administer activities properly and ensure time sheets and other paperwork are signed by customers and submitted in a timely manner.
• Advise users' personnel about the general operations of their centrifugal pumps and maintenance requirements, while promoting company service products.
• Advise the Engineered Solutions Manager and/or the service salesman of any new business opportunities.
• Support the local customer base, develop new customers, and maximize time utilization.
• Prepare service reports with care and attention and offer solutions to problems.
• Assembly and disassembly of API 610 and other centrifugal pumps.
• Dimensional and visual inspection of pump components.
• Seal Flush Tubing fabrication and installation.
• Seal Component Installation, such as reservoirs, gauges, orifices, etc.
• Pump Hydrostatic testing.
• Impeller Balancing.
• Mechanical Seal Air testing.
• Pump to Driver alignments.
III. Qualification Requirements
• Able to work as a team and independently with strong self-management and professionalism.
• Able to complete work within assigned deadlines.
• Computer proficiency as required for communication, research, work orders, and programming various controllers.
• Excellent customer service and communications skills (written and verbal).
• Must be fluent in English and have a valid driver's license.
Education and/or Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in servicing API 610 Centrifugal pumps in the Hydrocarbon industries.
• Ability to troubleshoot non-performing pumps and other rotating equipment.
• Millwright training and/or experience with machining, welding, and common tasks in repair procedures.
Physical Demands
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, and lift 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to work in industrial environments, including extremes in temperature with continuous walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling.
