General Summary:
Materials Planner will be responsible for planning and managing changes to ensure correct inventory levels for assigned Materials and/or Commodities. Primary objective is to help the Supply Chain team achieve timely delivery of materials to the stock room in support of the Master Production Schedule and in service aftermarket requirements. Strong technical and strategic background in integration and efficient use of SAP ERP Demand and Supply, Master Data and PLM life cycle management software.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify, enhance and support ERP system long term planning and implementation
- POC for all additions/ changes to ERP that impact Demand and Supply
- POC for integration with Master Data and PLM life cycle management systems
- POC for ERP functionality and configuration changes that impact SCM
- Mange configuration changes through the change management process to ensure timely incorporation of change request
- Support the Materials Planning team in various capacities such as forecasting, inventory management, data analysis, report development, and master data maintenance
- Ensure timely/accurate Bill of Materials within SAP; help identify and manage BOM errors, and support alignment of Engineering Change Orders to the BOM in the ERP system
- Periodically review material consumption to optimize procurement parameters, adjust re-order points, and safety stocks based on the Materials planning strategy. Ensuring the order levels are always in support of the consumption pattern
- Recommends product schedule releases to coincide with configuration phase-outs, attempts to minimize inventory investment
- Provide technical support in identifying and resolving supply chain issues that may preclude our ability to manufacture and deliver Aircrafts per the Master Production Schedule.
- Communicates and coordinates corrective actions with Inventory Control, Production Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance
- Recommends enhancements to existing SAP transactions and participates in evaluation, testing, and implementation of SAP upgrades and enhancements
Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain / Logistics or Industrial Engineering or combination of education and 4+ years relevant experience in lieu of degree
- APICS/CPIM Certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge and/or experience with SAP
- Advanced understanding of MRP fundamentals.
- Advanced analytical ability with exposure to database concepts.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Excel functions and other Microsoft Applications.
Physical Requirements:
- Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
- Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
- Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
- Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
- Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
- Effectively communicate in Business English language.
- Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
- Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided “reach assistance technology” or “movement assist technology” (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly’s, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
