Summary:
The Network Engineer will collaborate closely with the Director of Information Technology and the IT team to maintain, update, and enhance the firm’s existing systems. This role primarily involves managing network and communication services, and phone systems, and supporting server infrastructure. The Network Engineer will serve as Level 3 Support, providing technical guidance to lower-tier IT staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Configure, install and maintain network equipment such as firewalls, switches, and routers.
- Possess a solid understanding of routing protocols.
- Be familiar with Aruba wireless systems.
- Have hands-on knowledge of Fortinet equipment.
- Monitor and maintain WAN and LAN systems and software, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and work with ISPs.
- Configure, install, and maintain network security and monitoring systems such as firewall/IPS/IDS, and traffic monitoring systems.
- Actively work on network security, updating policies and procedures to meet client guidelines.
- Create and maintain documentation related to network/network security systems.
- Collaborate with vendors to develop new solutions and offerings for the firm.
- Have working-knowledge of Cisco VoIP phone systems and Cisco collaboration tools.
- Understand authentication mechanisms, encryption technologies, and networking protocols including SMTP, HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, and SNMP.
- Be knowledgeable about VMware ESXi and SAN environments.
- Have experience with virtual desktops and virtual environments.
- Possess solid experience with Group Policies, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP in a Windows environment.
- Understand Disaster Recovery solutions.
- Provide assistance to Level 1 and Level 2 support specialists.
- Serve as the technical lead for major IT projects.
- Be capable of understanding and troubleshooting cloud solutions.
- Create and update network documentation quarterly.
Technical Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience.
- Working knowledge of cloud solutions, network and communications equipment, and ISPs.
- Experience with Fortinet Firewalls, Office 365/Exchange Solutions, and basic SharePoint knowledge.
- Knowledge of network monitoring, switching/routing.
- Virtualization experience with VMware ESXi and SAN.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to carry computer equipment, printers, and files.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs to transport and move equipment if needed.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- Security/Microsoft certifications are preferred.
- Solid network and communications knowledge as well as systems support.
- Experience in financial institutions and law firms is ideal.
- Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
