Maintenance Mechanic Level 1

The Maintenance Mechanic reports to the Maintenance Manager. This member of the Distribution Center team performs facility and conveyor system maintenance. The individual must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and safely complete tasks in a timely manner.
Major Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- A Level 1 Mechanic is expected to have a basic understanding of electrical, mechanical and electronic components.
- Ability to preform assembly and testing of basic electrical, mechanical and electronic components
- Performs routine maintenance on tool, test equipment, etc.
- Capable of completing required service paperwork
- Identifies problems as they occur and suggest appropriate steps to solve them
- Track belts, replace motors, reducers, and conveyor parts
- Conduct daily system walks and identifies potential issues
- Follows all maintenance safety programs, for example, lock-out/tag-out, Hot Work, Fall Protection
- Monitor Sorter to ensure processes are running and the system is operating normally
- Performs general building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, painting, and mechanical.
Essential Skills:
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and all other related systems.
- Basic knowledge of conveyor systems.
- Able to use CMMS to track work orders & PMs
- Ability to use various hand and shop tools
- Basic computer skills.
- Proficient with manual and electric hand tools.
- Basic understanding of welding and fabricating
- Capable of operating lift equipment.
- Capable of basic troubleshooting any applicable building systems.
Requirements:
- Electrical and Mechanical Knowledge
- Basic troubleshooting Skills
- Vocational training or 1-2 years’ experience working in an industrial environment
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to work varied schedules and weekends, as needed
