Senior Scientist (Preclinical-Autoimmunity)
Simcere is seeking a Senior Scientist to join our preclinical team to help advance our discovery programs evaluating novel immune regulatory therapies to treat autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The successful applicant will have a strong background and track record in designing, executing, analyzing, and troubleshooting of experimental approaches required for development of novel therapies for autoimmune diseases. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly collaborative team and to apply your knowledge and experience to develop innovative targets from early discovery to IND-enabling studies using in vitro and in vivo humanized experimental models.
In this position you will be required to:
- Apply your deep knowledge in immunology, inflammation, and autoimmunity in leading drug discovery programs from target validation to candidate nomination.
- Design, execute, analyze, and troubleshoot immunological functional assays (multi-color flow cytometry; bioanalytical measurement assays (ELISA, MSD); immune cells interaction, activation, migration, suppression, and proliferation; autoimmune animal models).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance the company’s pipeline.
- Suggest and promote novel therapeutic targets and technologies.
- Be informed of the scientific advancement in your area of expertise.
- Interact with different scientists across the company and partners.
- Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
- Prepare reports and research documents for publishing, patent, and IND filings.
- Be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Qualifications and experience:
- A PhD degree in immunology or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong scientific background in understanding pathways involved in autoimmunity and inflammation.
- Demonstrated experience in execution, analysis, and troubleshooting of immunological assays.
- Skilled in cellular and molecular immunology techniques.
- Experience working with mouse autoimmune models.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communicator and multitasker with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated a strong scientific record (publications, presentations, and/or patents).
- Self-motivated, team- and goal-oriented scientist with excellent oral and written communication skills.
