Growing company with multiple manufacturing locations has an excellent opportunity available for a General Manager. This position will manage two manufacturing locations.
Main Functions: The General Manager position provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction and manage plant operations for production activities, raw material warehouse, distribution and client support.
- Responsible for driving the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals, objectives and customer satisfaction.
- Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes. Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the organization.
- Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Develop and control profits, plans, and budget.
- Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
- Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.
- Provide leadership and direction for scheduling work in the plant including flexing labor, capacity constraints and work schedules.
- Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.

Requirements
- Proven track record of developing and leading a safe work culture while managing multiple functions within a plant environment.
- Experience in leading an ISO9001 operations culture.
- Proven strong leadership, team building, decision-making and people management skills. The ability to work with, and effectively communicate with peers, subordinates, and team members at all levels.
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
- Technical skills. Knowledge of Process Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Visual Factory.
- Communication skills. The ability to communicate with external and internal customers in a professional manner.
- Analytical skills. The ability to prioritize efforts through Root Cause Analysis and other analytical tools.
- Proven work experience as a general manager (safety, quality, production/assembly, maintenance, environmental compliance).
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral), well organized, able to process large amounts of complex information.
- Able to motivate, coach and develop people in alignment with company’s vision and values
- Effective troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
- Strong financial management skills (analysis, budgeting, planning, etc.).
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
- Computer literacy. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong manufacturing ERP experience/knowledge required.
- Plastics processing knowledge (plastic extrusion, injection molding) a plus.
- Mechanical background, with PLC knowledge a plus.
- Ability to speak bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Bachelor of Engineering, Technology or Business Management.
- Must have 15 to 20 years' of management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Industrial engineering background a plus.
- Strong manufacturing ERP experience/knowledge required.
