The Closing Manager is tasked with creating, implementing, and updating closing workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), service level agreements (SLAs), and quality control (QC) measures to ensure efficient and compliant loan closings. They oversee daily closing and funding operations, monitor the pipeline, and work closely with fulfillment partners to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the loan closing process. Furthermore, they act as a subject matter expert, delivering training and promoting process improvements while ensuring full compliance with mortgage closing regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Create, implement, and continuously update closing workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), service level agreements (SLAs), checklists, and quality control (QC) measures to guarantee efficient and high-quality loan closing and delivery.
- Define and monitor productivity standards, ensuring performance objectives are achieved monthly.
- Conduct periodic reviews, manage exceptions, and handle escalations to maintain quality control and ensure on-time loan funding.
- Oversee daily operations with closers and fulfillment partners, ensuring consistent and timely loan delivery and closing.
- Manage the pipeline, promptly addressing challenges and removing obstacles to guarantee efficient file closings.
- Work closely with closers, brokers, and title representatives to efficiently identify and resolve any closing or post-closing issues.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to support decision-making and drive process improvements.
- Provide technical and guideline training, recommend areas for improvement, and conduct ongoing training as necessary.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of mortgage closing and post-closing regulations to ensure full compliance.

Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in closing and post-closing processes and managing teams across diverse loan types, including Conventional, Jumbo, NON-QM, GOVT across purchase and refinance.
- Proven track record in developing closing and post-closing workflows, Training Materials, SOPs, SLAs, and QC measures.
- Strong knowledge of fair lending regulations (i.e. RESPA, TRID, Fair Lending etc.)
- Proficiency in configuring closing systems for efficiency, quality, and compliance.
- Proven track record in managing and leading in-office and remote teams.
- Experience in the management of strategic third-party fulfillment partners.
- Experience working on mortgage products within a fintech environment is strongly preferred.
