Qualified candidates will be proficient in basic networking, equipment installation, provisioning, and maintenance. Prior experience with datacenter, enterprise, and telco networking equipment is preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Process inbound and outbound shipments.
• Update and maintain lab inventory database.
• Install, configure, and maintain; routers, switches, servers, PDU/CDUs, and console servers.
• Provide end-user support for device troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Building small to large-scale network topologies for Juniper customers.
• Assist users with building and provisioning virtual machine guests in vCenter/ESXi & Proxmox environments.
• Provide live support & assistance for Sales Engineers during customer presentations.
Skills & Requirements:
• Experience using power screwdriver and the ability to handle heavy equipment (50lb+) using server lifts and other tools.
• Knowledge and experience with server hardware and installation (4-post rail kits, virtual console, etc.).
• Knowledge and experience with ethernet cabling and transceiver standards & types commonly used in the industry (SMF, MMF, MTP/MPO, CAT6-RJ45, 1Gbe – 800Gbe standards, DAC, AOC, etc.)
• Experience with physical setup & provisioning of network appliances (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.)
• Solid communication skills, proficiency with English is required.
• Onsite full-time work week (40hr) is required.
• Occasional business travel may be required.
• Administrative experience with CentOS, RedHat, Debian, and other Linux distributions is a plus.
• Administrative experience with Windows and VMware is a plus.
• Experience with network testers (IXIA, Spirent, etc.) is a plus.
• Knowledge of standard network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, Dynamic routing protocols, SSH/SCP/SFTP, DNS, NFS, LDAP, CIFS, SMTP, SNMP, DHCP is a plus.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in network communications management or equivalent preferred. Three years of field technician or datacenter technician experience is also acceptable.
