Job Summary:
The District Manager for a full service restaurant chain is responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple restaurant locations within a specific region. This role focuses on ensuring high standards of customer service, operational efficiency, and profitability across all assigned locations. The District Manager will lead and mentor restaurant managers, drive sales growth, and ensure that each restaurant adheres to company policies and brand standards. Success in this role will require strong leadership, a deep understanding of the restaurant industry, and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of [X] full service restaurant locations, ensuring compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and brand standards.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure that each location is operating efficiently and providing a high-quality guest experience.
- Ensure all restaurants meet financial targets, including sales growth, labor costs, food costs, and other KPIs.
- Work with restaurant managers to troubleshoot operational challenges and implement solutions.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, train, and develop restaurant managers, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching and feedback to managers on leadership, performance management, and operational best practices.
- Identify high-potential team members and create development plans to promote internal talent for future leadership roles.
- Sales & Profitability:
- Drive revenue growth by implementing effective sales strategies, including local marketing initiatives and community engagement efforts.
- Monitor and manage profit and loss (P&L) statements for each location, ensuring that financial goals are met or exceeded.
- Analyze sales trends, customer feedback, and competitive activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Ensure that inventory management and cost controls are optimized to maximize profitability.
- Customer Service Excellence:
- Ensure that each location delivers an outstanding guest experience, maintaining high standards for service, food quality, and overall ambiance.
- Address and resolve customer complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor guest satisfaction metrics (e.g., surveys, reviews) and work with restaurant managers to improve service quality.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure that all restaurants comply with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular audits of restaurant operations, addressing any non-compliance issues and ensuring that locations are prepared for inspections.
- Ensure staff is trained on proper safety procedures and that necessary certifications (e.g., food handling) are maintained.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Provide regular reports on operational performance, financial results, and other key metrics to the Regional Manager or Director of Operations.
- Communicate company updates, new policies, and performance expectations to restaurant managers and ensure they are implemented across all locations.
- Attend regional or corporate meetings and contribute insights on operational improvements and growth opportunities.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of multi-unit management experience in the restaurant industry, with a focus on full service or casual dining concepts.
- Proven ability to drive operational success, increase sales, and manage P&L statements across multiple locations.
