Job/Position Summary
The EH&S Engineer is responsible for monitoring the facility to ensure it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained. Additionally, the person is responsible for overseeing construction and renovation projects to improve efficiency and to ensure that facilities meet environmental, health, and security standards, and comply with government regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure all aspects of workplace safety is followed, documented, and practiced.
- Allocate physical resources to the organization.
- Participate in architectural and engineering planning and design, including space and installation management.
- Prepare and review operational reports and schedules to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Set goals and deadlines for the department.
- Manages the environmental, industrial health and safety programs for semiconductor fab operations.
- Oversees the development, planning, and implementation of environmental, health and safety policies; develops procedures (chemical safety, ergonomics, illness, and injury prevention, and building safety) used by fab operations and other areas in the company premises.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental safety and handles all contact with appropriate agencies.
- Assists in evaluation of chemicals, activities and processes for compliance and prevention of EHS impacts.
- Point of contact for emergency response teams and manage workers compensation program administration.
- Analyzes performance trends to develop objectives under the EH&S program.
- Effectively leads positive change where needed to align with business objectives and other company locations.
- Assists Fab Operations and affected product groups with management of change activities, including equipment and tool installation, process safety review and chemical use approval and pro-active prevention and management initiatives.
- Uses appropriate communications and escalations to inform company leadership of all EH&S-related incidents including, but not limited to injuries, illnesses, emergency incidents, including updates until root cause, corrective and preventive actions are identified and implemented.
- Provide governance to ensure accurate systemic root cause and preventive actions are implemented.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or occupational/environmental health and safety.
- 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- This position will require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in these roles will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship, US Permanent Resident, or ability to meet contract-specific licensure requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience in managing EH&S training for all team members.
- Experience in wastewater management and air quality permitting.
- Experience in managing hazardous waste operation and disposal.
- Experience managing emergency response teams.
- Knowledge of Rules and Regulations.
- Knowledge of focus areas of EHS (water, air, ERT, etc.).
- Requires ability with common business software (Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio, Access) and MES.
- Skills required include Leadership, Communication, Prioritization, MES, Purchasing, Management of Direct Personnel, Networking, Instruction, Procedures, Documentation for small to medium sized businesses.
Physical/Working Requirements
Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day (where applicable)
