Role Description:
The Transportation & Mobility Planning Manager (Planning Manager) will lead day-to-day efforts on mobility initiatives and closely collaborate and coordinate with other Departments to push these exciting projects forward. The Planning Manager will oversee transportation planners while also overseeing several critical mobility initiatives. This highly knowledgeable leader will effectively use their planning, mobility, and traffic engineering knowledge to progress the Department’s efforts while engaging the community. An essential part of this role is relaying information to key stakeholders, including department heads and community members in easy-to-understand terms. This Planning Manager will work hard to meet deadlines and implement initiatives such as the Transportation Demand Management program and strategies, comprehensive mobility services, and additional efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or masters degree in urban planning, transportation planning or a related field (related fields would be: public policy, transportation engineering, urban studies, geography)
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional level experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, transportation program management, and/or transportation project development/management, including two years of supervisory experience
- Experience working in transportation and/or urban planning - either at another transit agency, city government, or private consulting/planning/engineering company
