Summary
Our client is looking for a seasoned and collaborative Product Design Engineer with Metal Fabrication experience to improve existing product designs, help develop new designs, and support cross-functional teams, such as manufacturing, purchasing, and marketing, as needed.

Primary Responsibilities
- Develop product designs that improve current products, as well as new products that provide new functionality and capabilities
- Collaborate with the Purchasing team to identify and validate new sourcing options
- Resolve any product or manufacturing issues both internally and externally
- Identify new manufacturing processes that improve Company production efficiency
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Operations team to quote and implement new manufacturing processes
- Support Manufacturing Operations to identify and develop necessary design documents and process flows
- Support the development of automated manufacturing equipment
- Support manufacturing with initial machine programs for new products as well as potential tooling efficiencies to support current products/programs
- In collaboration with Marketing, develop assembly instructions, troubleshooting guidelines, and packaging for products
- Provide mentorship and expertise to team members
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (BSME preferred)
- 7+ years of Product Design experience with an established skillset of new product development, efficiency improvements, and implementing/launching designs and solutions
- At least 4 years of experience Managing 2 or more Engineers or Designers.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience
- Experience in and knowledge of Metals Manufacturing processes (including metal cutting, bending, welding, roll-forming, stamping, and/or casting)
- Strong experience with developing and improving manufacturing assembly processes and equipment
- Demonstrated experience with rapid product concept development
- Experience with Solidworks is strongly preferred
- ERP experience
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work within cross-functional teams, as well as the ability to self-prioritize and work independently
- The ability to Train, Mentor, and Coach more junior Engineers.
