Nature of Work
This position assists in the administrative functions of the Department of Health Facilities (DHF) Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) systems in both Hospital and Long Term Care environments. You will also support each DHF location's Clinical Application Specialist in troubleshooting system issues, escalation of trouble tickets with Vendors, etc.
Works with MIS programming and Database Management staff in the day to day oversight of data acquisition from DHF EHRs, RCMs, and any other ancillary data capture systems/processes. Assists in the Documentation of MIS hosted Database and all programs, applications and processes related to reporting from the MIS Database for Federal, State and internally requested reports.
Will assist in the review and development of enhancements to the data capture and reporting.
Participate with maintenance of data sets related to Federal and State reporting requirements, occasionally updated by CMS/BMS or other oversight entities.
Develop a working knowledge of the TEDS and URS reporting formats and processes. Creation and updating of SQL queries from the Database to fulfill TEDS and URS specific data reporting requirements.
Assists in the quality control of imported data from DHF locations as well as those from other sources that are collected and reported to State, Federal or other authorized entities. Analyzing error rates of submitters, working directly with DHF locations to address identified errors.
Other duties or tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Substitution: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid personal computer or server support experience may be substituted for the required training. Successful completion of twelve credit hours or the equivalent thereof of industry recognized authorized/ certified LAN administration, network service/support and/or network technologies training may substitute for one year of the required training.
Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in information processing, one year of which includes personal computer support and/or training.
Substitution: Twelve hours of computer science or data processing may substitute for one year of information processing experience excluding personal computer support.
