Position Responsibilities
The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:
- Reduce open SCARs (supplier corrective action requests) and missed shipments of suppliers to AISIN plants.
- Plan and select target suppliers through the verification of quality, delivery KPIs, and data.

- Review contracts or other preproduction agreements between suppliers and AISIN for fair judgment.
- Assess suppliers through SPTT (readiness) audit or high-volume production trials.
- Organize and lead face-to-face or remote meetings to build cross-functional collaborative action team.
- Develop PFUS (problem follow-up sheets) and meeting minutes with actions, responsible persons, and timings required to resolve the issue in a timely manner.
- Lead and supervise improvements of quality and delivery of suppliers towards KPI targets utilizing processes knowledge and visual management techniques.
- Lead go-and-see on-site verifications to set clear path to achieve goals by establishing, completing countermeasures, and verifying effectiveness.
- Calmly, fairly, professionally, and respectfully, promote commercial and technical collaborations with suppliers and AISIN plants towards long-term trust and successes.
Required Skills and Abilities
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 5 years of experience in quality, industrial, or manufacturing, engineering role in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to communicate with internal and external resources to establish trust.
- Ability to read and comprehend product drawings, datum schemes, and associate it to the controls in production processes to lead teams of suppliers and AISIN.
- Ability to report situations in writing to provide guidance towards next steps.
Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Experience with PPAP processes, Cpk evaluation and/or process validations.
- Six sigma or ability to assess process stability and analyze the root-causes of product concerns.
- Experience with Casting, Forging, Machining & Sintering, Stamping Injection, Heat Treat, Coating & Plating, and Assembly processes.
- Skilled in Microsoft Access from a database development standpoint.
- Experience with 2D & 3D CAD software.
- Experience in automotive industry with understanding of standard job functions and requirements within the industry.
- Experience in multi-cultural environment, preferably Japanese-based.
- Fluency in English with additional language skill in Japanese, Chinese, German, and/or Spanish.
Education/Training/Certifications
- Bachelor or Associate’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, other Applied Science, or Purchasing supply chain management, or other non-technical area is acceptable based on proven technical skill, is preferred.
- Certificate or equivalent experiences of process capability, process control, launch management.
Travel Requirements
- Approximately 5-10 %
- Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
