Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and confident Quality Manager to oversee all quality assurance activities at our bakery facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background in a relevant field such as chemistry, food science, biology, or similar, with a Bachelor's degree required and a Master's degree preferred. The candidate must be proficient in managing day-to-day quality operations, working closely with a dedicated technician, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance Leadership:
- Provide boots-on-the-ground leadership in implementing and maintaining quality assurance programs.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all internal and external audits, including FDA, Kosher, BRC, and GFCO.
- Coordinate the implementation of corrective actions resulting from audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Technical Expertise:
- Utilize knowledge of Kosher, BRC, GFSI, and GMP to develop and maintain robust quality systems.
- Conduct regular assessments of processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to standards.
Lab Analysis and Sanitation:
- Oversee all laboratory analysis activities to ensure product quality and safety.
- Develop and maintain protocols for pest control and sanitation to prevent contamination and maintain a clean facility.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the technical team to ensure effective communication and collaboration in maintaining quality standards.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on quality assurance protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, food science, biology, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance standards and regulations, including Kosher, BRC, GFSI, and GMP.
- Experience in the food industry, preferably in a bakery facility, with a focus on quality management.
- Proficient in conducting internal and external audits and implementing corrective actions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
