Physical Substation Electrical Engineer for immediate hire!
We are seeking a Physical Substation Electrical Engineer to join our client's team, assisting with the development of General Arrangements for 13kV-500kV substations and switchyards. This role involves creating equipment plans, elevations, sections, control house layouts, grounding analysis/design, switchgear design, conduit and cable design, and producing bills of materials using AutoCAD/MicroStation drafting software. The position offers a flexible, hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Quality Champion for the team, participating in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Foster strong customer relationships through clear communication and support.
- Exhibit a willingness to cross-train in additional disciplines for professional development.
- Assist in estimating and preparing bid packages.
- Attend project scoping meetings as required.
- Ensure accuracy in completing assignments within budget and schedule, delivering high-quality work.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet customer requirements.
- Mentor junior designers/engineers to enhance their knowledge of physical substation design.
- Perform quality checks on team members’ work to ensure adherence to client and national standards.
- Independently evaluate, select, and apply relevant engineering principles to project needs, sharing updates with team members to improve communication and quality.
Qualifications:
- Intermediate proficiency in MicroStation (required).
- Experience with AutoCAD (preferred).
Requirement:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or similar. Higher prefered.
Experience:
6 to 10 years of substation physical layout design experience REQUIRED.
License/Certification:
Obtaina PE license in necessary states within one year to sign and seal client plans and drawings.
