Sterling Search Partners is helping a successful Birmingham Law Firm with its search for a Litigation Attorney. The litigation attorney manages all aspects of the litigation process for clients, including case preparation, research, trial representation, and settlement negotiations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Oversee the lifecycle of litigation cases, including initial client consultations, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Legal Research: Conduct thorough research on case law, statutes, and legal precedents relevant to cases.
- Drafting Documents: Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
- Client Representation: Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolution settings.
- Negotiation: Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel to reach favorable settlements.
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement legal strategies tailored to the specific needs and objectives of clients.
- Collaboration: Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to build strong cases.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and explain legal processes.
- Compliance: Ensure all legal proceedings comply with applicable laws and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- 1-3 years litigation, contract negotiation and administrative/regulatory law
- Proven experience in litigation, including trials and pre-trial motions.
- Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
