The Financial Controller will be a top candidate for the CFO position in the near future.
Job Description:
The Financial Controller leads the accounting department of (3) to effectively establish and enforce accounting and finance controls while producing monthly, quarterly and YE Financials that effectively and accurately recognize Loan Revenue for our "Merchant Cash Advance, Loans, Revenue Based Financing" Portfolios.
To be considered for this position, it is Required to have 2 of 3 skills bellow (DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU):
a)Have over 4 years of experience in accounting and/or Finance for a Merchant Cash Advance or Revenue Based financing or Factoring or Alternative Financing Company or Merchant Processing Company
b)MBA or Master in Finance, Accounting
c) 5 years of experience working as a Controller or Assistant Controller for a Bank or Lender/Funder and producing financials based on loan portfolio revenue recognition.
Main Job duties and responsibilities:
- Supervise accounting team
- Establish and Enforce Internal Controls
- Enforce month-end close out and produce Monthly Financials in by the 10th of every day.
- Prepare financial statements (Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly)
- Prepare financial and management reporting, monthly accruals, and GL account analysis
- Perform monthly, quarterly and yearly projections
- Create, Monitor and enforce monthly budget by department
Other
- Assist with related accounting tasks and special projects
- Work with outside auditors for year-end Audited Financials as required
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
- Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
In this role, you'll be utilizing your technical accounting expertise to provide support with:
- Month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing
- Monthly, Quarterly balance sheet and P & L Fluctuation Analysis
- Monthly expense variance analysis
- Annual budget preparation
- Assuring proper cut-offs are achieved
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies
Job Requirements:
- Must know how to recognize loan revenue with the straight and/or simple interest method.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
- Confidentiality
- Ability to multi-task and maintain a high level of detail in a high-volume environment
- Schedule driven and works effectively under tight deadlines
- A strong sense of urgency; deadline-oriented
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or Finance required
