As we continue to grow, we are seeking an Interior Design Manager to join our dynamic Leadership team.
Basic Function:
The Design Manager is responsible for the training and development of the design team and supporting DBI’s sales efforts. Additionally, the Design Manager ensures customers have a positive sales experience by receiving exceptional customer service through design services.
Essential Functions:
· Proven ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with end-users, A&D professionals, and other
influencers in the industry.
· Hire and develop a dynamic and motivated design team, including performance evaluations.
· Ensure DBI is designing and selling thoughtfully designed workspaces.
· Oversee the management of customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness and
follow-up including consistent and concise communication to customers and others.
· Proficient and consistent use of company communication tools and emails are required.
· Collaborate, partner and communicate with DBI leadership and members to oversee projects from inquiry to
installation, to achieve sales and other organizational goals.
· Enthusiastically support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with DBI
members.
· Responsible for DBI showroom design and branding, maintaining company visual standards.
· Engage in current and emerging design trends in the market.
· Responsible for understanding and utilizing design applications i.e.; e-Manage, CET, AutoCAD, 3-D Visual
Software, and various presentation tools (i.e., Canva, PowerPoint, etc.)
· Participate in local professional affiliations like SBAM, Lansing Chamber of Commerce, Michigan Chamber of
Commerce, BOMA, to name a few.
· Play a lead role in ensuring Haworth Best in Class annual deliverables are met.
Qualifications
· Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design)
· 2+ years of leadership or management experience
· Knowledge of commercial office design preferred
· 2+ years project management experience
· Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
· Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
· Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a Sr. designer position
