Your Role
As a Certified Radiologic Technician, you will play a crucial role in our clinical operations.
You will perform radiologic examinations as directed by physicians or medical assistants, manage and organize clinical supplies and equipment, ensure treatment rooms and medical assistant stations are well-stocked, and assist with daily clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Greet patients, escort them to the radiologic area, and ensure their comfort during procedures. Prepare patients for x-rays by positioning them appropriately and providing clear instructions.
- Radiologic Procedures: Obtain clear images as requested by physicians, adhering to safety protocols and utilizing protective equipment. Develop and process films, ensuring timely availability for physician review.
- Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed to minimize downtime. Perform routine safety checks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and order clinical supplies, including durable medical equipment, to maintain optimal inventory levels. Ensure all exam rooms and medical assistant stations are adequately stocked.
- Administrative Duties: Assist with patient scheduling, maintain detailed knowledge of practice management software, and ensure proper shutdown of clinic computers at the end of patient hours.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma and a Certified Radiologic Technologist License. Additional training in Orthopaedics is a plus.
- Experience: Proficiency in taking and developing radiologic films using PACS systems.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Comfortable using email and interacting with internet applications. A pleasant speaking voice and a neat, professional appearance are essential.
- Physical Demands: This position requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, as well as manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination. It involves standing and walking intermittently for several hours a day. The radiologic technician will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds, as well as help lift patients onto the x-ray table. Normal visual acuity and hearing are required. The technician will be exposed to bodily fluids on a regular basis.
- Working Conditions: Radiologic technician will have frequent exposure to communicable diseases, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
