HR Generalist – Avilla, IN

Position Summary:
As the HR Generalist, you will play a key role in ensuring that our HR practices are consistent and effective. You’ll be the go-to person for employees and managers, providing guidance and support in all areas of HR, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance. This role requires a strong understanding of HR best practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities across different sites.
What you'll do:
- Employee Relations: Serve as the primary HR contact for employees, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for the plant and assist with recruiting efforts for other locations as needed, including job postings, candidate screenings, interviews, and onboarding of new hires.
- FMLA and Benefits Administration: In this role, you’ll be responsible for administering FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) processes, ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations. You’ll also serve as the primary contact for employees regarding their benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company-provided benefits.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations across both locations. Maintain and update HR policies and procedures as needed.
- Training & Development: Coordinate and deliver training programs for employees and managers to enhance skills and ensure compliance with company policies.
- HR Reporting: Maintain HR records, generate reports, and analyze data to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Performance Management: Support managers in conducting performance reviews, setting goals, and developing action plans for employee growth.
What You Bring:
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Proficiency in HR software, Workday experience a plus and Microsoft Office Suite.
