SCHEDULE:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Develops consistent laboratory policies, practices, procedures, equipment, information management systems, and physical facilities to measure the quality of refinery feedstock, intermediates, and finished products.
- Assumes personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
- Prepares and ships samples for customers & to external labs for special analyses.
- Coordinates for the establishment and maintenance of quality control systems that operate in concert with laboratory systems.
- Works with commercial groups to support product quality investigations on finished products.
- Assists in the development and administration of laboratory capital and operating budgets including non-routine third-party testing and benchmarking activities.
- Develops testing practices to prove the reproducibility of results both inside and outside the corporation.
- Hires, trains, and manages laboratory team including employee evaluations, development, resolving issues, and taking disciplinary actions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, microbiology, or a related field.
- 5 years of laboratory quality control, laboratory operations, or similar refinery operational experience.
