Job Description
Blend is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to work on high-impact projects for our global clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with predictive modeling, marketing mix modeling (MMM), machine learning techniques, and data automation. This role will require a blend of technical skills, client-facing experience, and the ability to operate in ambiguous environments. The candidate should also have a strong grasp of advanced machine learning, reinforcement learning, and deep learning techniques.

- Pay Rate: Up to $80 per hour (MAX)

What you’ll do:
- Develop and support Marketing Mix Models (MMM) and forecasting engines for global clients
- Build and maintain predictive models for diverse use cases, including supply chain optimizations, vessel loading predictions, and payment plan optimizations
- Lead machine learning initiatives, leveraging predictive modeling and algorithmic solutions across various industries
- Develop and implement reinforcement learning (RL) agents for advanced AI applications, including gaming and simulations
- Automate data pipelines, including extraction, cleaning, and reconciliation from multiple data sources
- Conduct research on deep learning techniques and simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) for advanced navigation systems
- Evaluate AutoML products and recommend best-fit solutions to streamline model development and deployment for clients
- Collaborate with clients to interpret data and present findings, ensuring that insights lead to actionable business decisions
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, working in the PST timezone
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), forecasting, and predictive analytics
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel (XLS), and PowerPoint
- Strong understanding of data pipelines and automated data processes
- Expertise in machine learning, including reinforcement learning, deep learning, and AutoML evaluation
- Ability to work in the PST timezone
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and experience working directly with clients
Desired Skills:
- Experience with R for demand forecasting and global evaluation frameworks in the medical device industry
- Research experience in SLAM for space and terrestrial navigation systems
- Retail industry experience is a bonus
Technology Stack:
- SQL – Proficient in database management, data manipulation, and querying
- Python – Experienced in predictive analytics, supply chain optimization, and algorithmic trading
- R – Utilized for demand forecasting solutions and evaluation frameworks
- Deep Learning & Reinforcement Learning – Expertise in AI, RL agents, and SLAM research
