Summary
As a Plumbing Engineer, you will leverage your core skills in Mechanical knowledge, Mechanical engineering, Schematics, CAD, and Mechanical design to design and implement efficient plumbing systems. This is a commercial building plumbing design position.
Essential Functions:
- Perform engineering design evaluations and project engineering design, specific to Plumbing Engineering
- Perform independent design of plumbing, medical gas and/or fire protection systems, which can include drainage systems, fuel gas systems, medical gas systems and fire suppression systems
- Analyze existing plumbing systems for buildings
- Prepares engineering analysis of projects, to include: preliminary design, budget analysis, calculations, life cycle costs, and equipment selection
- Prepares drawings and layouts; proficient in Revit and/or AutoCAD
- Prepares technical construction specifications
- Reviews the development of designs for compliance with applicable codes, adopted engineering standards, and good engineering practices.
Requirements:
- Design: Generates creative solutions; translates concepts and information into images; uses feedback to modify designs; applies design principles; demonstrates attention to detail.
- Computer skills required: Microsoft Windows environment, Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel; AutoCAD, Revit
- 3+ years commercial plumbing design experience
