Field Service Technician (Electrical / Mechatronics)

Salary: $90,000-$105,000 base
Airbotics Talent have exclusively partnered with an innovative global unmanned vehicle manufacturer, who operate in the AgTech market, to recruit a Field Service Technician to support their growing customer base in Washington state, with a strong customer base in the Yakima Valley and Wenatchee areas. Candidates must live in Washington, or be able to relocate, and willing to travel to customer and distributor locations across state. My client may support relocation for US based candidates who reside out of area.
The Role
This role is critical in ensuring the deployment and continued operation of fleets of unmanned vehicles in the agricultural and farming markets across Washington. You will be responsible for technical support activities and work closely with the internal technical department, customers and distributors. As Field Service Technician you will apply your in depth product knowledge and mechatronic skills to support end users and distributors in fault finding, gathering field data and documenting information and processes for overall technical support efficiency and to help improve reporting. Whilst the role is multifaceted, a strong understanding of Electrical Engineering or Services is required. You will help to manage internal and external spares orders and parts management.
Additionally you will be required to be part of the on-call support team, ensuring customers have access during the breadth of their operating hours. This role will not include nights or shift work but will require flexibility.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have:
- An education in, or hands on experience with, electrical or electro-mechanical engineering / mechatronics
- A strong background trouble shooting complex hardware and electromechanical products. Understanding of Software is also desired but not essential
- Experienced working with electric (EV) or hybrid (HEV) vehicles, autonomous vehicles, agri / AgTech or robotics industry
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience, with at least 2 in a customer facing role
- A flexible approach, willing to travel to customers and work to an "on call" schedule when required
- Be confident working with customers, distributors and end users
