Hyundai Rotem is a global heavy industry company that specializes in manufacturing rolling stock, military equipment and plant engineering. It is able to produce all types of rolling stock, including electric multiple units (EMUs), high-speed trains, engine locomotives, wireless trams and magnetic levitation (maglev) trains. In addition, it is ushering in the new era of eco-friendly hydrogen fuel by developing trains powered by hydrogen fuel cells along with hydrogen infrastructure and hydrogen markets.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support system integration of Vehicle mechanical systems. This includes coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure seamless integration and optimal output.
- Support the preparation of design deliverables such as, CDRLs or mechanical system design packages, etc.
- Organize and lead the technical meetings or/and workshops with the Customer, suppliers and internal parties. This includes the preparation of meeting minutes and its distribution to relevant parties.
- Prepare or/and review technical documents, drawings, specifications and standards to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Actively participate in problem-solving and resolution processes related to mechanical system design and its integration challenges.
- Prepare and update Interface Control Documents (ICDs), System Integration Plans (SIPs), and related documentation to define and manage the physical interfaces between the new system and existing LA Metro infrastructure, including wayside equipment, facilities, and rolling stock.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest mechanical system designs as the project progresses.
- Maintain an accurate correspondence and technical meetings records.
- Following design stage completion, Mechanical Engineer will relocate to HR5000 site, transitioning first to a mechanical test engineer role and then, to a Senior Site Engineer position upon commencement of a warranty period. The detail job responsibilities and descriptions will be defined at the time of transfer.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical system design and/or integration, preferably in the rolling stock.
- Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills, and strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of mechanical system, materials and engineering principles.
- Proven experiences in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks or CATIA) and Autocad preferred.
- Ability to perform mechanical inspections with equipment including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, indicators, go/no go gages, and non-contact optical/laser measurement equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PPT, etc.)
Pay range:
Salary: $100,000~ $130,000 Annually or depends on experience
