Brooksource is looking for a Senior Project Manager for one of our clients in the Oklahoma City Metropolitan area. Within this role, they would be assigned responsibilities related to overall tactical planning implementation, and leadership for Information Technology projects. Their main duties include coordinating production releases and roll-outs, delegating tasks to the necessary project team members, and presenting on projects’ progress and performance. This position works with customers, users, senior management, and others to identify and define long-range information services requirements; develop a plan of approach; determine budgets, scope, and resources required; and provide project leadership for key technology initiatives. The position performs activities in the knowledge areas of project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, procurement, operational excellence, and stakeholder management for information technology projects.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall tactical planning, implementation, and leadership for Information Technology projects.
- Excellent clear and concise verbal and written communication, including summaries, and executive level presentations.
- Collect and analyze project requirements, define scope, create work breakdown structures, and verify and control scope of projects and budget.
- Create and maintain project plan by defining activities and sequence of activities, gathering estimates from resources and durations, and developing and monitoring schedules.
- Maintain and update project information such as project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding, CBA, ROI, Cost recovery and performance, and staffing.
- Plan, monitor, and control project work, perform scope change and re-baselining tracking and delivery along with close out activities.
- Utilize project management tools for task tracking, reporting status, financial tracking, and resource utilization reporting.
- Determine budgets and schedule based on estimates and durations gathered, and control costs and timelines.
- Create quotes and amendments via a statement of work and analyze billing against statement of work.
- Develop plans for quality of product and project, perform quality assurance and quality control, and ensure product quality and acceptance.
- Develop a staffing plan, acquire, develop, and manage the project team deliverables.
- Identify stakeholders, develop, and implement the communication plan, distribute project information, manage stakeholder communications, and report performance of the project.
- Develop the risk management plan, identify risks, perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, develop risk responses, and monitor and control the project risks.
- Plan, conduct, and administer procurements for the project, utilizing state procurement staff and policies.
- Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage based on minimum viable product definition. Monitor progress to assure deadlines, MVP, and standards are met.
- Coordinates geographically dispersed teams and vendors in multiple locations, including multiple offsite teams.
- Serve as a liaison between stakeholders, business, and technical aspects of projects.
- Provide Formal governance for multisystem solution or major development project.
- lead large to giant projects with integration across multiple releases across vendors, platforms including modernization and/or transformation projects.
- Vendor engagement planning, including MSA negotiation. NDAs, statement of work negotiation, and RFP creation and evaluation.
- Ensure compliance to published EPMO KPIs and standards for service, scope, schedule, and budget delivery.
- Skillfully handles risks, issues, and blockers to create positive outcomes.
- Highly effective organizer and project team manager with outstanding leadership skills. Serves as mentor and role model to project managers I and II.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related scientific/technical discipline or seven years of experience in an information technology service delivery field with at least five years in a project management role. Experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Preferred Qualifications:
Azure Dev Ops and Service Now experience
- Agile certification and three years practical experience or four years practical experience OR
- Scrum Certification, and three years practical experience or four years practical experience.
- Preferably with a CTC or CEC certification.
- Preferably a SaFe certification or practical experience.
- Preferably Greenbelt, Blackbelt or Lean certification or two years practical experience
- 7+ years of experience in an information technology field, OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting 12 semester hours in computer science or management information systems course work for each year of the required experience excluding the required supervisory, lead, and/or project management experience
